1: Why do you do that thing you do?

|
Welcome to the first ever QuèLog. What is a QuèLog, you ask? It is much like a blog but contains only questions. For this experiment (of unspecified duration) I've taken myself out of the drivers seat and replaced my position with you, the reader. I'll still be posting a brief description of the question, and occasionally, the reason behind the weeks question. If you find yourself still wondering what my personal opinion is on the matter, you'll have to look at everone elses in the mix of equally valid thoughts.

I've recently been reading/researching some possible group studies for my team and in the process stumbled upon this little gem. It's called Wired: For a Life of Worship (the most recent marketing of The Air I Breathe by Louie Giglio), and while it's not the first time I've read it, its the first time I've considered it in a community setting. Ironic that I should just now read it that way because worship, as it pertains to the corporate church setting, is always in community. Anyhow, Mr. Giglio starts this book with a quesiton:

How do you define worship?

For the first of many questions to come, I saw this as the most fitting. There's many definitions. None are invalid.  All are worthy of our consideration...So what do you think?

break....resume.

Well, it's no secret that this blog has taken a vacation. While I've enjoyed writing, I found myself suddenly very self conscious. "Why am I writing this thing? Is it beneficial? In fact, wouldn't it be far more useful and unifying to hear what others have to say?" So, I choose to store my thoughts away, while I ponder the nature and validity of one "b" stuble. In my mind they found refuge in a classic, vintage suitcase resting safely in the embrace of the Scottish highlands. But, even the best of luggage eventually breaks, and in my case, it revealed that those guarded and emotional writings are of little importance in the first place! My thoughts on these things do very little, if anything, to grow the unity we desire in our beautiful and diverse team. Quite the opposite really. As they say (whoever "they" is), live and learn. Trial and error.

So, one "b" stuble will be turning a new leaf as of now. No more life lessons, observations, or conclusions and in there place, questions that educate us on each other. One question a week (or, at times, a writing and/or image) that compels YOU, to contribute your highly valued opinion. One chance a week to consider someone else's perspective, preference, and persona. One chance a week to learn the joys of contrast and diversity within the context of trusted community.

Thank you all for your patience while I mature ever so slowly. The future of stuble with just one "b" is looking brighter. b for brighter. I can't wait to hear your thoughts, while our understanding of God and each other becomes increasingly clear. Visit stuble.blogspot.com in the very near future, to see the first of many thought provoking questions and conversations.
